Dr. Sultan Aljahdali is a Professor of Computer Science at the College of Computers and Information Technology (CIT), Taif University, Saudi Arabia. He is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and educator with extensive contributions to both academia and industry. Over the course of his career, he has played a pivotal role in advancing computer science education, research innovation, and institutional development at national and international levels.

Dr. Aljahdali previously served as Dean of the College of Computers and Information Technology at Taif University from 2009 to 2013. During his tenure, he led major academic and administrative transformations, most notably guiding the college to achieve ABET accreditation for its Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs. This milestone significantly enhanced the college’s academic quality, international recognition, and alignment with global standards in computing education.

Dr. Aljahdali’s academic background reflects a strong foundation in computer science and information technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University, USA, in 2003. Prior to that, he obtained his Master of Science degree with honors from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and his Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University, USA. In recognition of the importance of leadership in higher education, he further completed the Leadership Program at Harvard Business School, Harvard University, in 2013, strengthening his strategic planning, organizational leadership, and executive decision-making capabilities.

His research portfolio is both extensive and impactful, spanning several key areas of computer science. His primary research interests include software testing, software reliability modeling, soft computing, computer security, reverse engineering, and medical imaging. Through these domains, Dr. Aljahdali has contributed to advancing theoretical foundations as well as practical applications that address real-world challenges in software quality, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems.

Dr. Aljahdali has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly books and more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in reputable international journals and conferences. His work is widely recognized for its rigor, relevance, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge in computing disciplines. He has also been actively involved in interdisciplinary research, particularly in applying computational techniques to medical and engineering problems.

Before transitioning fully into academia, Dr. Aljahdali gained valuable industry experience as an Information Technology Manager with the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Saudi Arabian Airlines in Saudi Arabia. This experience provided him with practical insights into large-scale IT systems, operational efficiency, and industry-driven problem-solving, which continue to inform his teaching and research.

In 2007, Dr. Aljahdali joined Taif University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He quickly distinguished himself through excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and research productivity. His commitment to academic quality and innovation led to his appointment as Dean in 2009. Throughout his academic career, he has been dedicated to mentoring students, supervising graduate research, and fostering an environment of academic excellence and critical inquiry.

Dr. Aljahdali has made significant contributions to the global research community through his active involvement in international conferences and professional activities. He has served in various leadership and organizational roles, including General Chair, Technical Program Chair, Program Chair, Session Chair, and member of technical and organizing committees for numerous international conferences and workshops. These events have been sponsored by leading professional organizations such as the IEEE Computer Society, the Arab Computer Society (ACS), and the International Society for Computers and Their Applications (ISCA).

Among his notable conference leadership roles, Dr. Aljahdali served as Conference Chair of the 26th International Conference on Computer Applications in Industry and Engineering (CAINE 2013). He has also contributed as an organizer and committee member for the 7th Edition EMENA International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Smart Technologies (INTELSYST 2026), held in Fez, Morocco.

Dr. Aljahdali is an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Arab Computer Society (ACS), and the International Society for Computers and Their Applications (ISCA). His engagement with these organizations reflects his commitment to advancing the computing profession and fostering international collaboration.

In addition to his research and professional service, Dr. Aljahdali has contributed to scholarly publishing as a member of the editorial boards of several international journals. These include the International Journal of Science and Advanced Technology, the International Journal of Computer Technology and Applications, the World of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Journal of Intelligent Computing, the International Journal of Computer Science & Emerging Technologies, and the Universal Journal of Computer Science and Engineering Technology. Through these roles, he has supported the dissemination of high-quality research and the development of emerging scholars.

Dr. Aljahdali’s international academic engagement is further reflected in his appointments as a Visiting Professor at several universities in the United States, including Winona State University, St. Cloud State University, and the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. These experiences have enabled him to collaborate with international faculty, contribute to cross-cultural academic exchange, and broaden the global perspective of his teaching and research.
